Finding our way in and out of the classroom with the Tree of Life
When we look outside we will notice if there are any the spindles and twining branches of the most noble of plants...the tree. Considered by many to be interconnected by their roots, we are learning more and more about these glorious beauties. Almost all cultures talk about the tree of life. It is central to every mythos. So, I feel worth a deep rooted look.
Units 2 and 3 are rooted with treesFrom studying tree cookies to dramatic play as a tree, to many forms of creation with the tree, the tree is an excellent place to start with a thematic unit not only for spring but for the entire year. Unit one in the PLT book took us into using our senses to explore our world. Many of you are still working on incorporating this into your classrooms so here is a look back at the amazing things you said we could make with the small tree cookies as pictured here.One thing I discovered while visiting this spring is the need for two things:
